Midlab is a proud supporter of the environment.

Our Environmental Policy ensures the protection of the environment through the utilization and management of natural resources. Our Everything Clean philosophy extends to our environment and encompasses our shared responsibility to improve the quality of the world we live in. We promise to continue making an active effort to improve and innovate for our environment. In late 2019, we became the first and only cleaning chemical manufacturer in the country to operate out of a completely LEED-certified® facility. We prioritize sustainability because we believe in a healthier, cleaner standard of living for all our planet’s inhabitants. We believe in a better future.

The Road to LEED Certification

At Midlab, we’re constantly seeking innovation and improvement wherever possible. The U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) green building program recognizes best-in-class building strategies through a green rating system that analyzes every phase of the building lifecycle.

In everything we do, the wellbeing of our community and planet remain a priority to us. Midlab was awarded LEED Gold certification for ensuring our facility is always operating to the highest level of sustainability. This commitment to sustainability is our way of creating a healthier, safer world for our customers, team members, and community.

Our Commitment to You

For our customers and team members, LEED certification demonstrates a continued commitment to improvement within the sustainability field, as well as our own facility.

Formulating Green Products

With products for all industries, our comprehensive third party-certified green cleaning product line, Nattura, helps reduce the harmful effects of standard everyday cleaning products on the environment. Nattura products and manufacturing processes meet the strictest standards set by third party agencies.

Developing Green Solutions

Midlab is proud to offer FlexMax, a packaging solution designed for a cleaner, safer environment. When compared to conventional buckets, FlexMax Packaging uses less material and energy during production and distribution. Research shows that FlexMax reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 30% and post-consumer solid waste by 62%.

Prioritizing Recycling

Our Plant Recycling Program is a comprehensive solution to improved sustainability in which we responsibly dispose of most recyclable materials. Currently, we recycle 95% of all cardboard and plastic used in our manufacturing process and aim to keep that number rising.

Third-Party Certified

In addition to Midlab’s LEED certification, our commitment to sustainability means working closely with other 3rd party certification organizations on developing eco-friendly products and solutions customers will feel good about using.

Safer Choice

The Safer Choice Program uses EPA’s chemical expertise to carefully evaluate products and approve only those that have met the strictest environmental standards. The label acknowledges chemical products that are safer for people and the planet, without sacrificing quality or performance. We’re proud to produce innovative cleaning products under the Safer Choice guidelines.

ECOLOGO™

Being ECOLOGO-certified means having a reduced environmental impact at a time when taking care of our planet has never been more important. ECOLOGO certifications tell the story of a product’s environmental performance throughout its lifecycle. We continually improve under this certification by complying with product testing, auditing, and additional eco-friendly efforts from the manufacturing to disposal phases of our production.

Green Seal™

Since 1989, the Green Seal of Approval has used science-based programs to empower consumers, purchasers, and companies to create a more sustainable world. Following a rigorous set of performance and quality criteria, Midlab became Green Seal-approved and continually complies with monitoring and requirements under the program’s strict guidelines.

Get Involved in Sustainability

Recycle

Recycling sends less waste to landfills which are polluting our environment at an alarming rate. A simple online search will show you where your nearest recycling facility is located. Materials such as paper, aluminum, cardboard, plastic, and glass are some of the most common items accepted at most recycling facilities.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

Reduce your carbon footprint by using less energy. Installing energy-efficient lights, machinery, and equipment into your facility will impact your energy use substantially and save on wasted resources, including internal costs.

Research

Do your research. Purchase cleaning products that were formulated under strict, eco-friendly standards. Use distributors that actively participate in green initiatives and consistently work to improve the environment in all stages of their product life cycles.
